Annual Appeal Gifts

Water and mud were flying everywhere!

Following one of NEPA’s many recent rainstorms, I was walking through a park when up ahead I heard peals of laughter and excitement. Rounding the corner, I saw a sight that reminded me of NBLT’s theme for this year, “Nature is the Best Playground.” A little girl about 2 years old was jumping in a puddle on the path with wild abandon. Her parents looked on in amusement and awe as their daughter was intimately connecting with nature. I hope there will be many more nature experiences for that little girl.

Being able to play in nature is imperative for the health and well-being of children. Author Richard Louv states in his book, Last Child in the Woods, “Children need nature for the healthy development of their senses, and therefore, for learning and creativity”.

Please support land conservation and make an End-of-the-Year gift to North Branch Land Trust to ensure that those places in nature we love will continue to be protected for generations to come.

As always, your Annual Appeal gift of any amount is appreciated. So that NBLT can protect even more special places for children to connect with nature and jump in puddles, we respectfully ask you to consider giving at the $100 and above level. If you can do more, please be as generous as possible. If not, please find a number that is right for you.

Working together, we can conserve the places in nature that we cherish and also leave a legacy for all generations to come: The opportunity and ability for children to experience nature and have it always be part of their lives.

Happy Holidays,
Paul Lumia
Executive Director
