This is an event not to be missed! Join NBLT and the Wyoming County Kiwanis for the 49th paddling of the 12-mile river race from Mehoopany to Tunkhannock.
49th ANNUAL ENDLESS MOUNTAINS DOWNRIVER CANOE/KAYAK RACE

The race course is from the bridge in Mehoopany, PA to just above the bridge in Tunkhannock, PA. The starting gun is 12:00pm. Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Tunkhannock, in conjunction with North Branch Land Trust and Endless Mountain Outfitters, this 12 mile race is one of the oldest marathon canoe races in the Northeastern United States.
Registration is by mail to the Kiwanis Club of Tunkhannock, PO Box 419, Tunkhannock, online at www.emo444.com or by calling North Branch Land Trust at 570-696-5545. The entry fee is $12 per pre-registered participant or $15 per participant the day of the race. Registration is allowed on race day from 10:00-11:00am at the start site in Mehoopany.
There will be several divisions within classes for both kayaks and canoes. The recreation class is for people who don’t compete in other races, just want to have fun and enjoy the river. The competition class is for people who enjoy racing and competition. A new addition this year is a relay race. There is a class for everyone! Awards will be given in each division. If you’d like to participate but don’t own a boat contact Endless Mountain Outfitters, www.emo444.com, for rentals.
At race end, in Tunkhannock, you can enjoy the many activities of the Celebrate Summer Festival at Riverside Park. There will be live music by Sadie Green Sales Jugband, Coal Town Rounders and the George Wesley Band along with environmental activities for children and adults, a petting zoo, ice cream, plein aire painters and much more.
