North Branch Land Trust to Host Benefit Concert for Barb Romanansky

Posted on: May 13, 2017

North Branch Land Trust and friends are hosting a BENEFIT CONCERT to raise money to help offset the mounting medical expenses of their co-worker, Barb Romanansky. To many, Barb is known for her passion of connecting people to the land, “pit-crewing” for her husband’s race team, escorting groups of travelers to South Africa, kayak sojourns, biking, hiking with her dogs, gardening, and helping to conserve natural and historic properties in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Barb recently returned home after five months in either the hospital ICU or the nursing home facility. Her body rejected the bypass attempt to save her leg from a devastating blockage. This eventually resulted in her right leg being amputated above the knee. Barb is preparing for her transition to a prosthetic leg, as well as adapting her home, car, and office to her needs. As you may imagine, her medical expenses are overwhelming.

Rain or shine, this BENEFIT CONCERT will take place on
Saturday, May 13th at NBLT’s Howland Preserve’s Red Barn, located at 546 Vosburg Rd, Tunkhannock.

DON SHAPPELLE & THE PICKUPS have graciously donated their time and talents to this cause. The four piece band plays mostly original music, with some covers by their favorites: Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, Gordon Lightfoot, Neil Young, and more.

STARTING AT 1:00PM, THE BAND WILL PERFORM THROUGHOUT THE AFTERNOON

Plans include a concession table for snacks, a variety of vendors, and a Chinese auction of wonderful gifts from our community. You are encouraged to bring your own seating, picnic baskets, and supplies. No glass containers will be allowed. This event follows the outdoor ethics of the “Leave No Trace: Pack it in, Pack it out” conservation policy.

**TICKETS ARE $10 PER PERSON AND ARE AVAILABLE ONLINE by clicking the Register Event button below, email info@nblt, or call the office at 570-310-1781
