Richard Louv to Speak on THE NATURE PRINCIPLE: Nature-Deficit Disorder, Vitamin N and the New Nature Movement

North Branch Land, Trust in partnership with Wilkes University, Geisinger, and Riverfront Parks Committee, is thrilled to bring award-winning author and speaker, Richard Louv, to Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday, October 17, at 7:00 p.m. in Wilkes University’s Dorothy Dickson Darte Performing Arts Center. Mr. Louv is a journalist and author of nine books about the connection between family, nature, and community. He is the co-founder and chairman emeritus of the Children & Nature Network, an organization helping to build the movement to connect today’s children and future generations to the natural world. His 2005 book titled LAST CHILD IN THE WOODS: Saving Our Children From Nature-Deficit Disorder has been translated into 17 languages, published in over 20 countries, and has stimulated an international movement to connect children and the natural world. Mr. Louv coined the term Nature-Deficit Disorder, which has become the defining phrase of this important issue.

Mr. Louv’s presentation begins at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, and a book signing opportunity will follow his talk. This highly anticipated evening is open to the general public and free of charge, No registration is needed.
