If you’ve ever wanted to learn about the engineering of the F.E. Walter Dam, here is your chance!

A member of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will lead this fascinating tour beginning outside on the dam itself then proceeding across the elevated bridge to the tower. We will then go inside the tower to view the inner workings of the dam system.

This tour is not  for people afraid of heights!

The elevator in the tower fits 5 snugly including the operator. Depending upon your fitness and claustrophobic tendencies, there are winding stairs we may use instead of the elevator (the tower is about the same height as the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse).

Maximum number of participants is 15.

No charge for NBLT Members / a $10 charge for Non-Members
